After filing a trademark on Redmi-branded laptops in India, the company fils trademark on the Redmi-branded smartwatch on BIS Site that could be launch soon in India as it receives certification.
Redmi smartwatch has received BIS certification with model number HMSH01GE and registration number R-41150517. It clarifies that the company is launching the smartwatch soon in India. Redmi’s Lu Weibing Weibo post reads “How do you feel about the first Xiaomi watch? Looking for a Redmi watch?”, hinting about Redmi smartwatch. But there are no more details about the smartwatch yet.
According to the rumors, the Redmi smartwatch is running on the Wear OS platform and it could be powered by Snapdragon Wear chipset.
If we compare with Xiaomi Mi Watch, it has a 1.78-inch AMOLED rectangular touch screen with support of over 100 watch faces. It's running on Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 chipset with 1GB of RAM, MIUI based on Android Wear OS, over 40 apps support and also supports eSIM with 4G VoLTE calling through all the major operators in China. It gives up to 36 hours of battery backup life on 4G.
