Redmi has launched its latest flagship gaming smartphone the Redmi K50G in the K series in China, as they promised. It has a 6.67-inch FHD+ flexible OLED screen from CSOT with a 120Hz high refresh rate, 480Hz touch sampling rate, 1,920Hz PWM color adjustment, TrueColor, MEMC technology, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection, but it comes with a Side-mounted fingerprint sensor instead of an in-display fingerprint scanner.
It runs on the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM, 256GB UFS 3.1 storage and is based on Android 12 with MIUI 13. It has 4860mm² large dual vapor chambers and large-area graphite to keep the phone temperature low. It uses three Wi-Fi antennas that can effectively reduce game latency by 30% compared to traditional dual Wi-Fi antennas, and also support Wi-Fi 6E.
It has a triple rear camera setup where a 64MP primary camera along with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 2MP telemacro camera, and on the front side has a 20MP front-facing camera with Sony IMX596. The Redmi K50G has dual 1115 subwoofers with dual 0611 tweeters for a quad-speaker setup to complement treble and effectively extend the frequency response range up to 12,000Hz.
The company has upgraded the dedicated gaming triggers feature where eight pop-up magnets improve button stability, and the button fretting has been upgraded to silicone that rebounds faster and reduces finger fatigue after long periods of gaming. Dedicated gaming buttons now also support customization, allowing users to customize hotkeys. The phone packs a 4,700mAh large battery with 120W Xiaomi HyperCharge fast charging that can charge the phone up to 100% in just 17 minutes.
The phone also features a 16 million-color notification light, which is built in the camera module. Redmi has partnered with Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team that introduce the special edition Redmi K50G for limited to 10,000 units worldwide. This incorporates design elements of the AMG Petronas team and comes with a 120W GaN charger in the box.
