Xiaomi unveiled the Redmi A4 5G at the 2024 Indian Mobile Congress in collaboration with Qualcomm, introducing India's first smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 Mobile Platform, as previously promised.

According to the company, this device is set to transform the entry-level smartphone market in India by providing enhanced 5G connectivity to millions of users. The Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 chip, built on the same 4nm process as the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, supports up to 90fps FHD+ displays, features dual 12-bit ISP camera support, includes a powerful modem for Gigabit 5G connectivity, and offers dual-frequency GNSS (L1 + L5), including NAVIC support.

While detailed specifications were not revealed, Xiaomi showcased the phone in two colour options, highlighting a 50MP rear camera with a secondary lens and a 3.5mm audio jack. Xiaomi emphasized that the Redmi A4 5G reflects its mission to bring cutting-edge technology to a wider audience. Tailored for the Indian market, the device is designed to accelerate the country's transition to 5G, offering optimized power efficiency, faster connectivity, and an improved user experience.

Both Xiaomi and Qualcomm Technologies highlighted that the Redmi A4 5G will make gigabit-fast connectivity accessible to millions of Indians. Its affordability and strong performance are expected to revolutionize the entry-level smartphone market and promote 5G adoption across the country.

The Redmi A4 5G will be launching soon in India, with a price tag of under Rs. 10,000, according to the company.
