Realme has launched its latest mid-range 5G smartphone, the realme 12+ 5G, in India, fulfilling its prior commitment. Featuring a spacious 6.7-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display, it operates on the Dimensity 7050 SoC, integrates 3D VC cooling technology, and offers configurations of up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage capacity.
Equipped with a 50MP rear camera incorporating the Sony LYT-600 sensor, 2x in-sensor zoom, OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro camera, the device also boasts a 16MP front-facing camera. Running on realme UI 5.0 based on Android 14, it guarantees two Android updates and three years of security patches.
In terms of design, the phone features a premium watch-inspired aesthetic with a vegan leather back and a metallic strap texture. It houses a robust 5000mAh battery complemented by 67W fast charging capability, delivering a rapid 50% charge in just 19 minutes.
Additionally, the phone boasts IP54 dust and water resistance alongside Rainwater Smart Touch technology. This innovative feature scans screen data to differentiate between water and human touch. Upon detecting water, a set of algorithms prevents unintended touch actions.
In instances where water and touch coincide, the algorithm mitigates the water's impact, thereby enhancing touch input accuracy. The company emphasizes that this enhancement improves the overall performance and usability of the realme 12+ 5G across various scenarios.
