Qualcomm introduced the new Snapdragon X Plus 8-core SoC for Copilot+ PCs during an event Ahead of IFA 2024, following the earlier release of the 10-core version this year.

The Snapdragon X Plus, powered by an 8-core Qualcomm Oryon CPU, boasts a 61% faster CPU performance compared to competitors, who require 179% more power to reach peak performance, according to the company. It is built using the same 4nm process node and technology as other Snapdragon X series SoCs.
For single-thread performance, Qualcomm claims the CPU is up to 22% faster than its competitors at the same power level, with competitors needing 121% more power for peak performance. For multithread performance, the CPU is said to be 41% faster, while competitors require 124% more power.
The integrated GPU supports up to three external monitors, delivering exceptional graphics and immersive visual experiences. Additionally, the SoC includes the Qualcomm Hexagon NPU, capable of 45 TOPS, designed to handle AI-driven applications, paving the way for significant advancements in on-device AI computing.
Availability -
PCs from Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Samsung, powered by the Snapdragon X Plus 8-Core, will be available starting today, with prices starting at USD 799 (approximately Rs. 67,105), according to Qualcomm.
