Qualcomm has recently unveiled the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 processor, the latest addition to its mid-range 7 series Mobile Platform, succeeding last year's Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 SoC. This iteration employs 4nm process technology and shares the same architecture as the 8 Gen 3 and the 8s Gen 3, albeit with distinct clock speeds.
The platform boasts support for a diverse array of AI models, encompassing large language models (LLMs) such as Baichuan-7B, Llama 2, and Gemini Nano, as highlighted by the company. Qualcomm touts a 15% enhancement in Qualcomm Kryo CPU performance, a 45% boost in Qualcomm Adreno GPU capabilities, and a 5% reduction in overall power consumption compared to the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2. Notably, the GPU does not include hardware Ray Tracing capabilities.
Featuring the Snapdragon X63 modem, this platform facilitates 4K HDR video capture and incorporates an 18-bit triple ISP. It also inherits the Qualcomm FastConnect 7800 Mobile Connectivity System from the 8 Gen 3 and the 8s Gen 3, providing Wi-Fi 7 support with speeds of up to 5.8 Gbps and dual Bluetooth connectivity to ensure sustained immersion.
