Google is working on its first smartwatch the Pixel Watch that would be launched somewhere in 2022 after Google acquired Fitbit for $2.1B earlier this year. Recently, the renders of the Google smartwatch have surfaced online, which are 'official marketing images' that show a glimpse of what it will look like.
The image shows that the Pixel Watch will feature a circular dial with a bezel-less display, along with a button on the right side, which is similar to Apple Watch’s Digital Crown that is used for navigation and interaction. The device is expected to feature with Fitbit in new software that the company calls “Nightlight,” which is based on the Google Wear OS.
The Pixel Watch will support 20 different proprietary wristbands and come with various features like a SpO2 monitor, ECG monitor, heart rate monitor, and more. Currently, the company revealed the codename of the Pixel Watch is ‘Rohan’, and this watch is expected to come with a slow charging mechanism.
According to the new report, the watch is currently in the final stage of development and is expected to be launched in the first half of 2022 in the Global Market. According to The Verge, the Pixel Watch could be more expensive above $299 than Fitbit’s devices. We should know more details and the all features of the watch in the coming weeks.
