Last year, OPPO showcase its latest rollable concept phone the OPPO X 2021, which is an achievement in the flexible display and structural stacking, bringing users a more natural interactive experience. Now, the new rumor from China has said that the OPPO is preparing to release their first folding smartphone during the second quarter of 2021. But, this device will not be a rollable smartphone like the OPPO X 2021 concept phone, it will likely have a ‘regular’ folding smartphone.
OPPO is expected to be among one the many Chinese smartphone manufacturers that will release their first foldable smartphone this year. These are already showcased smartphones with bendable displays such as the OPPO X 2021 rollable concept phone that has a 6.7-inch display that can be extended to 7.4 inches. Google is also rumored to planning to launch its foldable smartphone later this year. Samsung has already supplying foldable displays to these companies.
Earlier rumors said that the OPPO’s foldable smartphone will have a clamshell design, which folding from top to bottom. The display size expected a 7.7-inch unfolded, while the outer screen is sized might be between 1.5 to 2-inches. This patent was published on February 22, 2018, and contains a flexible smartphone that consists of three display parts.
Recently, HUAWEI launched their Mate X2 foldable smartphone last month, when the OPPO launches its foldable phone then will be entering a highly competitive market. We should know more details and the full specifications of the phone in the coming weeks.
