OnePlus has started rolling out Android 8.0 Oreo stable update for the OnePlus 5 in India. The update brings in Oxygen OS 5.0.1 with new Camera UI, beauty effect in portrait mode, and places tab to see your photos on a map.
The company had halted Oxygen OS 5.0 update for the OnePlus 5 after issues were reported. The new 5.0.1 update addresses issues with the previous update and also adds the December security patch.
The Android 8.0 Oreo update for the OnePlus 5 is now rolling out in India. It is 1587 MB in size and should be downloaded over WiFi. We would recommend charging your phone's battery to at least 50% before beginning.
Within months of the release of the OnePlus 5, the company also launched the updated OnePlus 5T. It still runs on Android 7.1 Nougat but an Oreo beta update is available for the 5T as well. The company has also promised Face Unlock feature for the OnePlus 5 which is expected to come with a later update.
