OnePlus has also launched its latest flagship smartwatch, the OnePlus Watch 2R at an event in Italy along with OnePlus Nord 4 Smartphone. The primary update is its aluminum body, contrasting with the stainless steel body of the Watch 2, resulting in a reduced weight of 59g with the strap, down from 80g. Other features remain similar to the OnePlus Watch 2, released earlier this year.
The Watch 2R runs on both Wear OS powered by the Snapdragon W5 chip and a proprietary OS based on RTOS, just like the Watch 2. It features a 1.43-inch AMOLED screen with a peak brightness of up to 1000 nits, allowing you to view and respond to notifications, including messages, and make or answer phone calls over Bluetooth.
It comes with 32GB of standalone storage, enabling you to download songs from YouTube Music and Spotify. It is compatible with most Bluetooth earbuds for wireless music playback on the go. The OnePlus Watch 2R and the OHealth app support Health Connect by Android, providing a central hub in Android 14 for managing data permissions from multiple health and fitness apps and devices. Native sync with Google Health Connect and Strava is now available.
The watch is rated 5ATM + IP68 for water and dust resistance and supports over 100 sports modes. It has built-in dual-band GPS to accurately track your activities, offering additional data for running, badminton, tennis, and skiing. It is powered by a 500mAh battery, promising up to 100 hours of battery life in Smart mode, and up to 12 days in power saver mode. It features 7.5W VOOC fast charging, which can fully charge the smartwatch in an hour.
