ONEPLUS OPEN new render image leak.

OnePlus is working on its first foldable smartphone the OnePlus Open, which has surfaced in the new set of renders by leakster @OnLeaks. These new images exhibit a wider design, resembling the OPPO Find N2 rather than the previous renders.

The OnePlus Open features rounded sides and a flat frame, distinguishing it from the curved frame seen in the OPPO Find N2. Additionally, changes have been made to the placement of the top and bottom speakers compared to the earlier renders.

Furthermore, the images reveal an enlarged rear camera module housing three sizable sensors, with one being a periscope telephoto camera. The flash remains positioned in the left corner, outside the camera cut-out, and has also increased in size.

In addition to this setup, another sensor can be observed below the 'H' or Hasselblad branding, possibly serving as a Time-of-Flight (ToF) or LiDAR sensor.

The positioning of the selfie camera on the inside has been shifted from the left corner to the right corner. The device retains the alert slider and maintains a leather-like finish on the back.

Earlier speculations indicated that the phone would feature a 7.8-inch 120Hz foldable inner AMOLED display and a 6.3-inch 120Hz outer AMOLED screen. Under the hood, it is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, offering up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. The camera setup is anticipated to include a 48MP main, 48MP ultra-wide, and a 64MP telephoto camera. To keep the device running, it is likely to come with a 4,800mAh battery that supports 67W SuperVOOC fast charging.

OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has hinted at the development of foldable cameras, while the OPPO president of marketing affirms that OPPO has established a solid foundation and is now ready to drive innovation forward.

Previous speculations indicated that the phone's launch was scheduled for August 29th. However, this week, reputable OnePlus leaker Max J reported a delay in the phone's launch. OnePlus had initially teased a Q3 2023 launch, spanning from July to September. Yet, it remains uncertain whether the launch will proceed in September or be pushed to Q4.

According to the leaker, OnePlus is making a switch from BOE to Samsung display panels for the foldable phone. We should know more details and the exact launch date of the phone in the coming weeks.
