OnePlus is preparing to launch its upcoming wireless earphones the OnePlus Buds 3, as evidenced by their recent appearance on the FCC certification website with the model number E509A. Details regarding the design and features have been revealed in the listing, aligning with leaked renders from the previous month.
The Buds 3 will retain the design aesthetics of the previously released OnePlus Buds Pro 2. Expect a metallic finish on the in-ear module and stem, with each earbud weighing 4.77g. The case is set to accommodate a 520mAh battery with 4.5W input and 1.2W output, while the buds themselves will be equipped with a 58mAh battery.
In terms of audio specifications, the forthcoming TWS earphones are expected to feature a 10.4mm woofer, a 6mm tweeter, and 48dB of Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). These earbuds are slated to carry an IP55 rating for dust and water resistance, while the case, with a matte finish, will hold an IPX4 rating.
When ANC is deactivated, the Buds 3 are projected to offer a battery life of 9 hours, mirroring the performance of the Buds Pro 2, and this extends to 33 hours with the charging case. With ANC activated, the battery life is estimated at 6 hours, extending to 22 hours with the case. Connectivity options will encompass Bluetooth 5.3, Google Fast Pair, and support for dual connectivity.
Although not officially confirmed, given the pattern observed with the Buds Pro 2 and OnePlus 11, the Buds 3 will probably make its debut alongside the OnePlus 12.
