We have been hearing continuously for a week now that OnePlus is working on a hardware refresh for the OnePlus 3. Earlier, shortage of AMOLED displays was thought as the reason and then there was talk of using the new faster and more battery-efficient Snapdragon 821 SoC.
Now, the OnePlus A3010 has received certification from China's CCC which indicates that the phone is nearing launch. The next step would be to get TENNA certification, at which point we will get to see both the specs and images of the upcoming smartphone.
Again, at present this is just conjecture but given the naming of the phone (OnePlus 3 has model number A3000), we expect this to be called something in the lines of the OnePlus 3S or the OnePlus 3 Plus. The AMOLED panel may be switched with an IPS panel possibly at a higher Quad-HD (2560x1440 Pixels) resolution and we may see a bigger battery as well.
Let's hope the rumors pan out and customers are able to get their hands on the new OnePlus 3 as the current-gen model is out of stock in most regions.
