Recently, OnePlus has confirmed the launch date of its latest OnePlus 9 series smartphones on March 23rd. Now, the press images and the key specifications of both the OnePlus 9 and the OnePlus 9 Pro have surfaced. It shows the OnePlus 9 Pro comes with a 6.7-inch Quad HD+ (3120 x 1440 pixels) 120Hz curved screen, and the phone will use a 48MP Sony IMX789 primary camera and a 50MP Sony IMX766 ultra-wide cameras. It also has laser autofocus along with two additional cameras that would be an 8MP 3.3x telephoto camera with OV08a10 sensor and a 2MP GC02m1b for depth/macro. On the front side could be a 16MP Sony IMX471 punch-hole front-facing camera.
OnePlus already confirmed that the phones will support 12-bit RAW images, delivering more dynamic and vibrant colors in pictures and more room for additional post-editing. The Hasselblad Camera for Mobile will also offer improved HDR video recording, as well as support for capturing 4K video at 120 fps and 8K at 30 fps. A prototype of the phone that surfaced last month revealed a Tilt-Shift option that will let you focus on an object and blur out other parts.
According to the company, the ultra-wide-angle lens is equipped with a free-form surface lens that produces high distortion, for example, the lines of buildings will become curved, which affects the imaging effect. In order to solve this problem, OnePlus has added a “free-form surface” lens, which reduced the distortion rate by 10% to 20% from the original, and is directly reduced to about 1%, which almost eliminates the distortion.
OnePlus CEO and OnePlus weibo channel have shared some camera samples shot on the main camera and the ultra-wide camera.
As per the earlier rumors, it revealed that the phone will support IP68 ratings, and will be powered by a larger battery compared to 4510mAh in the 8 Pro, which supports 65W wired fast charging and 45W wireless charging support. According to the leaks, the phone will come in black, green, and silver colors.
OnePlus 9 -
The OnePlus 9 also surfaced in Black, Blue, and Purple colors with a glossy finish. It shows a 6.5-inch FHD+ flat 120Hz AMOLED screen as compared to the curved screen in the Pro version. It comes with a plastic frame instead of a metal frame in the Pro version for cost-cutting. The image shows the alert slider has been removed.
The leak revealed the two main cameras and the 2MP camera from the Pro model but there is no telephoto camera. It also comes with a Hasselblad lens and the logo on the OnePlus 9 as well. As per the earlier rumors, the phone will be powered by a 4500mAh battery with 65W fast charging.
Right now, there is no image of the rumored OnePlus 9R yet, we should know more details and find out if the phone will be unveiled later this month.
