OnePlus has officially announced the release of its flagship OnePlus 12 smartphone in China on December 5th. Notably, renowned OnePlus tipster Max J has recently disclosed that the global launch event for the phone is scheduled for January 23rd in India.
It's worth recalling that the OnePlus 11 made its debut in India on February 7th this year, with the launch date confirmed in December 2022. Although OnePlus has initiated teasers on its India site, providing glimpses of some features, the official launch date is yet to be disclosed.
In addition to the OnePlus 11R 5G, OnePlus Buds Pro 2, OnePlus TV 65 Q2 Pro, OnePlus Pad, and the OnePlus Featuring 81 Pro, there were also unveilings of the OnePlus Hub 5G Router. Despite an initial announcement of a July 2023 launch, this event did not materialize. Building on earlier speculations, it is anticipated that the January event will showcase the OnePlus 12R, OnePlus Watch 2, and OnePlus Buds 3.
OnePlus recently affirmed the inclusion of the Sony LYT-808 sensor in their upcoming phone, along with the disclosure that the device will incorporate a 1/2-inch 64MP OV64B periscope telephoto lens boasting an equivalent focal length of 70mm, supporting 3x optical zoom.
Additionally, the company has officially confirmed the integration of a 2K "X1 (Oriental) Screen" from BOE, offering a remarkable brightness of up to 2600 nits. The display will be complemented by OPPO's inaugural self-developed image quality engine, the Display P1 chip.
Under the hood, the phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and will offer configurations with up to 24GB of RAM and a capacious 1TB of storage. Earlier speculations have hinted at a robust 5400mAh battery, accompanied by 100W wired fast charging capability and 50W wireless fast charging.
