OnePlus has officially announced an event scheduled for December 4th in China to commemorate the company's 10th anniversary. Founded by Carl Pei and Pete Lau in December 2013, OnePlus unveiled its inaugural product in 2014.
In a recent update, the CEO disclosed plans for a fireside chat during the event, symbolized by the CEO standing on a clock near the 12, hinting at the OnePlus 12. The company has also confirmed the integration of the Sony LYT-808 sensor and unveiled details about the phone's camera system, featuring a 1/2-inch 64MP OV64B periscope telephoto lens with a 70mm equivalent focal length, supporting 3x optical zoom.
Additional specifications include a 2K "X1 (Oriental) Screen" from BOE with a remarkable brightness of up to 2600 nits, and the incorporation of OPPO's first-generation self-developed image quality engine Display P1 chip. The phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.
Amid earlier speculations of a December launch, the confirmation of the event on December 4th aligns with these expectations.
Pete Lau shared his reflections on the upcoming 10th-anniversary event, expressing:
"Over the past decade, we've experienced both triumphs and challenges. Our journey has been one of continuous growth, witnessing the evolution of the industry alongside all of you.
I want to extend my deepest gratitude for your unwavering support of OnePlus. Throughout these ten years, I've received immense encouragement and constructive criticism from you. I understand that it all stems from your genuine love for the OnePlus brand. In this decade, some have been constant companions, while others have come and gone. Regardless of our encounters or farewells, I firmly believe that paths crossed will intersect once more.
As we approach December 4th, a fireside chat awaits us to mark the 10th anniversary. Together, we'll gather to witness the unveiling of the OnePlus 12—a masterpiece that transcends a decade of innovation and dedication."
