The company didn't have a tough time selling the Nokia X, it sold like crazy in markets like India but there were just too many limitations to the hardware and Nokia's own custom skin. It seems there's yet another Nokia X on the horizon, the Nokia X2 has just been identified through its AnTuTu benchmarks where it scored 11827, which is impressive for the Nokia X family.
The Nokia X2 is also supposed to be powered by a Snapdragon 200 SoC MSM8210 found on the Moto E and the Xperia E1 Dual. Again, supposedly there is going to be 1 GB of RAM onboard, a front-facing camera as well as a separate home button apart from the back button which is already found on the current Nokia X family.
That's a lot of maybe's, but after Microsoft's acquisition its not even clear whether the Nokia X family is going to survive let along birth another generation. Recently, the Nokia X+ and Nokia XL were launched in India as well. Being one of the target markets for entry-level devices, the Nokia X received quite a bit of success in India. The expected launch date as mentioned is sometime in 2015.
What remains to be seen is whether Microsoft is willing to let Android flourish under its wing.
