Microsoft today launched the Nokia X2 which comes with Nokia X Platform 2.0 but there was no silver lining for the Nokia X, X+ and XL. Microsoft has said that the previous gen X platform devices will not be updated to Platform 2.0 which brings in a new updated Android 4.3 Jelly Bean core, a three page home layout with a separate apps list like Windows Phone alongwith the tiled homescreen as well as Fastlane. Now you also get four tiles per row.
That's not all, you also have a home button in addition to the back button seen on previous Nokia X devices. The Nokia X+ and XL just went on sale last month, and have already become obsolete. Microsoft stated hardware requirements to be cause of the update not being available for the previous-gen Nokia X devices.
