Nokia X just got a software update in India, which brings performance improvements. The previous software version was 10.0.3 and it has been updated to 11.1.1. The Platform version has been changed from Nokia X software platform 1.0 to 1.1. The update is available Over-The-Air (OTA) and is just 16 MB in size.
Although there is no change in the Android core which still remains at Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, the new update does add the ability to change tile colors for 3rd party apps. The Nokia Store too got an update recently which enabled faster downloads as well as has the latest version of apps available.
We too unboxed the Nokia X in India just a week back and found that it has good build quality, but is truly an entry-level device when it comes to performance.
