Flipkart's return policy has just been revised and now most products have a 10-day return period compared to 30 days, earlier. Moreover, the eCommerce platform is increasing commissions sellers have to pay.
Recently, Amazon too made a change to their return policy whereby smartphones could not be returned under any clause. They would only be replaced.
The shortened return period is applicable to most of the top selling categories including electronics, books and smartphones. However, the 30-day return period is still applicable to clothing, footwear, jewellery, other fashion accessories as well as large appliances.
The change in Flipkart's commission structure will result in seller increasing prices by almost 9% on products. Sellers claim that Flipkart's new policies are even more confusing than before and the company keeps changing them within months.
