The latest smartphone in the Moto 'G' series has been launched in India. Moto G4 Play was announced back in May alongwith the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus but this one comes with a smaller 5-inch display running on the quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor with Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
It has an 8MP rear camera with LED flash capable of recording 1080p videos and a 5MP front-camera for selfies. Connectivity options include dual-SIM 4G with VoLTE support, WiFi, GPS and FM Radio. There 2GB RAM on offer with 16GB expandable storage. Lenovo has packed fast charging for its 2800 mAh battery on the phone and a 10W fast charger is bundled within the box.
In terms of specs, the Moto G4 Play sits between the Moto G 3rd-gen and the Moto G4. But in terms of design it follows the new G series line-up. There is no fingerprint sensor here though. Given the recent interest in VoLTE smartphones with Jio 4G, the G4 Play may have a chance in the overcrowded and competitive smartphone segment under Rs. 10,000. Lenovo is also planning to launch the Moto E3 in India on September 19th.
Here are some of the competitors to the Moto G4 Play:
- Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime
