Microsoft has unveiled the second generation of its Surface Laptop Studio during its recent event, following a two-year gap since the previous model. The new iteration retains the same 14.4" PixelSense touchscreen display boasting a 120Hz refresh rate. It has been upgraded with the latest 13th Gen Intel Core i7 H-series Processor and offers multiple graphics options, including the NVIDIA RTX 2000 Ada Generation GPU, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050, or NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU.
Microsoft claims that this is their most potent Surface device to date and asserts that it delivers twice the graphics performance compared to the MacBook Pro M2 Max. In response to user feedback from the initial Surface Laptop Studio, the company has modified the design of the Laptop Studio 2 to incorporate both a USB-A port and a microSD card slot.
Furthermore, the company has introduced an AI-enhanced full HD Studio Camera with an expanded field of view. This camera enhances the natural feel of face-to-face video calls by employing Eye Contact correction and Automatic Framing, ensuring that users are consistently centered within the frame.
The device offers three distinct modes: Laptop mode for productivity, Stage mode for streaming, and Studio mode for creative activities. Additionally, it provides the convenience of drawing and sketching using the Surface Slim Pen 2, which features built-in storage and charging capabilities.
