Micromax has announced a new smartphone brand Yu which will run on CyanogenMod. Both companies inked a deal earlier this year to partner up on software, where Cyanogen Inc will provide a customized Android experience for Micromax devices.
The fist Yu handset will hit the market sometime next month. The Yu Televentures brand (100% Subsidiary of Micromax) will follow the online sales strategy employed for Android One devices and Xiaomi's portfolio. Micromax further added that it will honor the warranty of rooted Yu devices, which can be a unique selling point for budding developers.
