LG Electronics has introduced ThinQ ON AI, its first dedicated smart home hub, set to debut at IFA 2024 in Berlin, Germany, next week. This hub is equipped with Affectionate Intelligence, positioning itself as the core of a smart home ecosystem. It integrates LG appliances with advanced AI, offering personalized comfort and convenience.
LG ThinQ ON -
ThinQ ON seamlessly connects with a broad array of appliances and IoT devices, streamlining the setup of an AI-powered home. It includes an AI speaker for interaction with LG’s voice assistant and audio playback. Powered by a high-performance AI chipset, ThinQ ON is designed to accommodate future upgrades.
Utilizing LG’s Affectionate Intelligence, the hub learns from user habits and trends, contributing to LG’s vision of a “Zero Labor Home.” Its compact, cylindrical design in neutral grey or white allows it to blend effortlessly with various home décors.
Generative AI-Based Solutions -
ThinQ ON understands everyday language and context, adapting settings based on user preferences and autonomously monitoring the home environment. Users can control appliances and devices using natural, conversational voice commands. It also provides notifications for completed tasks and issues, along with voice-activated adjustments and routine automation.
Connectivity and Expandability -
The ThinQ ON is Matter-certified, supporting Wi-Fi and Thread for easy setup and integration with a variety of devices. It is compatible with both LG products and appliances from other brands. LG’s acquisition of Athom, including the Homey Pro hub, expands ThinQ ON’s connectivity to over 50,000 devices and approximately 1,000 apps, facilitating global brand integration.
Security and Privacy -
The hub is equipped with LG Shield, a security system that encrypts and securely stores user data. It ensures data integrity by preventing unauthorized modifications and protecting user information throughout its lifecycle.
Availability -
The LG ThinQ ON will be presented at IFA 2024 from September 6-10, 2024, at LG’s booth in Hall 18, Messe Berlin.
Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the ThinQ ON and other LG AI Home solutions. Pricing and release details will be announced at a later date.
