LG has unveiled its upcoming series of QNED and QNED Mini LED TVs for 2024 ahead of CES 2024. This announcement follows the recent introduction of LG's Smart Home AI Agent robot. The TVs incorporate LG's Quantum Dot NanoCell color and Mini LED backlight technologies, promising enhanced features such as deeper blacks and more accurate color reproduction.
Available in various sizes, including 43, 50, 55, 65, 75, 86, and 98 inches, the new lineup caters to a diverse range of customers. LG QNED Mini LED TVs utilize Precision Dimming technology to achieve realistic contrast, while LG QNED TVs employ local dimming technology for vivid contrast and outstanding brightness.
In terms of video and audio enhancements, the TVs feature the α8 AI processor, surpassing its predecessor with a 1.3x increase in AI performance, a 2.3x improvement in graphic performance, and a 1.6 times faster processing speed. The AI upgrades introduce features like AI Picture Pro, utilizing deep learning algorithms to enhance texture and fine details in images, and Dynamic Tone Mapping Pro for precise HDR optimization, delivering 3D quality. AI Sound Pro provides virtual 9.1.2 surround sound from the built-in speakers.
On the software front, the TVs will run on a new webOS program, ensuring up to 5 years of OS updates. The models offer individual profiles, Apple AirPlay and Chromecast support, and a range of accessibility features such as dedicated menu settings, sign language avatars, and remote control tutorials.
The latest version of webOS introduces the Dynamic Q Card on the main home UI screen, allowing fast and effortless access to services organized into groups like Home Office, Home Hub, Sports, and Games.
