After a lot of teasers, the Lenovo Z2 Plus was launched in India today. Packing the Snapdragon 820, the Z2 Plus has a lot to offer for the mid-range customer.
Apart from the flagship processor, you get 4GB RAM, 64GB of onboard storage on the device. There is a 3GB RAM variant as well with 32GB onboard storage. Although you can't expand storage but you have USB OTG support for the 2.0 Type-C port. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box with the company's own custom skin. Lenovo too has let go of Cyanogen OS.
There's a 13MP rear camera here with LED flash, ISOCELL sensor, phase-detection auto-focus but no OIS. An 8MP camera can be found on the front too. The Z2 Plus has a fiberglass frame with glass on the front and back packing a 3500mAh battery inside its 8.45mm thin shell. If you were wondering Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 is also supported and we expect a fast charger to be bundled with the phone.

The Z2 Plus also has a lot of customization built in. You can configure the home button to perform differnt functions based on gestures and taps dubbed U-Touch 2.0.
Compact flagships are very rare these days, Xiaomi tried with the Mi 5, but it had its own share of issues. Lenovo now is trying hard with a similar form factor on the Z2 Plus which has a 5-inch 1080p screen. Packing a smaller display, powerful internals and a larger battery at the same may just be what the doctor ordered.
OnePlus 3 is at present the undisputed king of the sub Rs. 30000 segment and now with the advent of the Lenovo Z2 Plus, the tides may turn.
Lenovo Z2 Plus India Pricing and Availability
The Lenovo Z2 Plus has been priced at Rs. 17,999 in India for the 3GB RAM variant with 32GB storage while the 4GB RAM variant with 64GB storage can be purchased for Rs. 19,999. Both will be available exclusively on Amazon.in on open sale starting 25th September at 11:59 PM, in white and black colors.
There are some accessories in store as well. You can get a Chrono case with a window for time, notifications priced at Rs. 1299, Skullcandy Ando headset for Rs. 1299 and Stealth case for Rs. 699.
