Lenovo is set to launch its new Vibe C2 budget smartphone, and if some reports coming in are to be believed it may be sold as the Moto E 2016.
The report gathered traction as the two variants of Vibe C2 (possibly Single and Dual-SIM) carry the model numbers XT1700 and XT1706, which are traditionally used for Moto smartphones. Moreover, earlier leaked specs of the Moto E 2016 point to the use of a MediaTek chipset with a 5-inch display similar to the Vibe C2.
Coming to specs, the Vibe C2 comes with a 5-inch HD IPS display with a resolution of 720x1280 pixels, running on the MediaTek MT6735P processor we last saw on the Vibe P1 from Lenovo. There's 1GB RAM expected on the device with a choice of 8GB/16GB storage. But this may change at launch, and we expect 2GB RAM with 16GB storage to be the norm.
Cameras have always been the biggest cost cutting measure when it comes to the Moto E, and this time too you will get an 8MP AF rear camera coupled with a 5MP front-facing camera. A 2750 mAh battery with Android 6.0 Marshmallow will keep the phone running.
At present there is no confirmation from Lenovo, not is there any word on pricing and availability. but we'll keep our eyes peeled for any information.
