Lenovo has just updated its Android update tracker, and boy you are in for a surprise. Some of the most popular Lenovo smartphones, including the K3 Note and the A7000, A7000 Plus will not get Android M update before September 2016.
As of this writing, any word on Marshmallow update on the Android support tracker was taken down including the names of the above mentioned smartphone. But we were able to recover a cached copy. Lenovo might be working on a new timeline for the update, which means September 2016 is definitely not set in stone.
However, next year around that time Google will probably unveil Android N, making this update obsolete. But all hope is not lost, the Vibe series including the Vibe P1 and Vibe S1 are slated to get Android Marshmallow in June 2016. So, it might just be the budget devices for which the update is delayed, no matter how popular they are.
