Infinix has launched its latest smartphones in the ZERO series, the Infinix ZERO 40 4G and ZERO 40 5G, succeeding the previous ZERO 30 lineup. Both the ZERO 40 4G and ZERO 40 5G come with a 6.74-inch curved AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution. The ZERO 40 features a 120Hz refresh rate, while the ZERO 40 5G offers a 144Hz refresh rate. Both screens are protected by Gorilla Glass 5 and have a peak brightness of up to 1,300 nits.
The ZERO 40 5G is 7.9mm thick and weighs 195g, while the ZERO 40 is slightly slimmer at 7.7mm and weighs 180g. Both models boast a 55° curved screen, enhancing grip and display experience. The ZERO 40 5G runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 processor with 12GB of RAM and storage options of 256GB or 512GB. The ZERO 40, on the other hand, is equipped with the Helio G100 chipset, 8GB of RAM, and similar storage capacities.
Both models are equipped with a 50MP front camera (JN1 sensor) and an in-display fingerprint scanner. The rear camera setup includes a 108MP main camera with Samsung’s ISOCELL HM6 sensor (1/1.67-inch) and OIS, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. The ZERO 40 5G supports up to 4K video recording at 60fps, while the ZERO 40 supports up to 2K video recording at 30fps.
Each device comes with a 5,000mAh battery and supports 45W wired charging. The ZERO 40 5G also includes 20W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging, while the ZERO 40 does not support wireless charging.
For connectivity, the ZERO 40 supports Wi-Fi 5, whereas the ZERO 40 5G is equipped with Wi-Fi 6E for faster speeds. Both models run on XOS 14.5 based on Android 14 and are promised three years of security updates along with two Android version upgrades. Other features include AI-generated wallpapers, noise reduction, JBL sound tuning, Always On Display, an IR remote control for smart home management, and NFC wallet functionality.
Additional features in both models include a GoPro mode that integrates with GoPro cameras for controlling shooting modes, with the GoPro Quik app pre-installed. The ZERO 40 series also offers AI enhancements for photography, such as ProStable video, RAW HDR, and various shooting modes.
