HUAWEI has launched its latest tablet in the Matepad series, the HUAWEI MatePad Pro 12.2″ and MatePad 12 X (also known as MatePad Air 2024) for global markets, following their release in China last month. The MatePad Pro 12.2-inch features a Tandem OLED PaperMatte display with up to 2,000 nits of brightness. It includes anti-sparkle and nanoscale anti-glare technology, delivering a paper-like viewing experience while protecting your eyes.
The tablet holds several certifications for eye protection, including SGS Low Visual Fatigue 2.0 Premium Performance, TÜV Rheinland Reflection-Free, and TÜV Rheinland Full Care Display 3.0, designed to minimize eye strain, according to HUAWEI.
The MatePad Pro comes equipped with the HUAWEI Glide Keyboard, which includes a 2-in-1 stylus that charges directly on the keyboard. The tablet also supports digital creation tools, such as the GoPaint app with splatter brushes, allowing users to create ink splatter effects. The FangTian Painting Engine 2.0 supports 8K ultra-large canvas for digital art.
It is powered by a 10,100mAh battery, which can be fully charged in 55 minutes using 100W SuperCharge fast charging. In Power Conserve mode, the tablet can remain on standby for up to 380 days, according to the company.

The HUAWEI MatePad 12 X is a more affordable model, featuring a 144Hz LCD PaperMatte display, making it perfect for reading and writing. Its design includes a Shimmery Pearlescent Sheen, giving the metallic white finish a colour-shifting effect depending on the lighting. The tablet also boasts a sturdy metal body.

The HUAWEI MatePad Pro 12.2-inch comes in Premium Gold and Black colours, and The HUAWEI MatePad 12 X PaperMatte Edition comes in White, Greenery and Sakura Pink colours. Both tablets will be available from September 19, 2024, on selected markets globally including the UK and Europe.
