Huawei has launched its latest flagship tablets, the MatePad Pro 12.2 (2024) and MatePad Air (2024) in China today, following the release of the Huawei Nova Flip.

The MatePad Pro 12.2 features an elegant gold design with a silk-like texture made from easy-to-clean, skin-friendly micro-velvet material. It has a circular camera frame on the back, dimensions of 128.53 x 271.25 x 5.5 mm, and a weight of 508 grams.
This tablet boasts a 12.2-inch dual-layer 144Hz OLED display with a 2800 x 1840 pixels resolution, a 92% screen-to-body ratio, a contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1, and a peak brightness of 2000 nits. It supports 1.07 billion colours, a P3 wide colour gamut, and ΔE < 1 colour accuracy, reducing 99% of light interference.
The display includes PaperMatte technology and supports the 3rd-gen M-Pencil stylus with ultra-low latency. For artists, it features the Fangtian Painting Engine 2.0, which supports an 8K canvas and over 500 layers, maintaining smooth strokes at 120 fps.
The MatePad Pro 12.2’s rear camera setup includes a 13MP main lens, an 8MP wide-angle lens, and an 8MP front lens for selfies and video calls. It is powered by a 5050mAh dual-cell battery (equivalent to 10,100mAh) with 100W Turbocharging, reaching 85% charge in 40 minutes and a full charge in 55 minutes. According to the Huawei, it offers 380 days of standby time.

The Huawei MatePad Air 2024 features a sleek all-metal design, weighing 555 grams with a slim profile of 5.9mm. It is made with corrosion-resistant materials and boasts an iridescent pearlescent finish that changes colour with light.
The tablet comes with a 12-inch Soft Light Edition display, offering anti-glare protection and a paper-like writing experience. The screen supports a refresh rate of 30-144Hz, a 2.8K resolution (2800 x 1840 pixels), a P3 wide colour gamut, a 3:2 aspect ratio, up to 1000 nits peak brightness, and HDR capability.
It reduces light reflectivity by 60% and eliminates 99% of interference light, with certifications including SGS Low Visual Fatigue 2.0 Gold Label, Rheinland Hardware-Level Low Blue Light, and Rheinland Flicker-Free. The tablet supports the 3rd-gen M-Pencil stylus, a magnetic keyboard with NearLink technology, and connectivity options such as integrated speakers, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, USB Type-C, and Huawei Sound for audio.
The device is powered by a 10,100mAh battery and supports 66W fast charging, offering up to 14 hours of video playback on a single charge. It includes a 13MP rear camera, an 8MP wide-angle lens, and an 8MP front camera. The device also features a 3D contoured VC structure (0.28 mm thick) and 20,000 mm² of high thermal conductivity graphite for enhanced performance.
Running on HarmonyOS 4.2, the tablet includes Celia AI for writing, document management, and PC-level apps. The updated Notes app offers creative covers, stickers, and AI tools, while supporting PC-level apps like WPS Office and Edraw Icons.
