HUAWEI has officially opened pre-orders for the HUAWEI Mate XT, the world’s first smartphone with a tri-fold screen, ahead of the September 20th sale in China, following initial teasers of the rear design.
The teaser highlights the phone's sleek tri-fold design, a metal frame with a golden finish, a leather back, and the "Designed & Crafted by HUAWEI" branding.
HUAWEI also released a teaser video showcasing an octagonal lens design, a periscope telephoto camera, and a sleek metal body. The rear design closely resembles that of the Mate X5 foldable phone.
The Mate XT will feature a screen supplied by BOE, with a customized tri-fold display that opens into a tablet-sized screen. BOE Chairman Chen Yanshun, speaking at the BOE IPC 2024 conference, emphasized that the Mate XT's tri-fold screen is the result of deep collaboration between both companies.
The HUAWEI Mate XT will be available in 16GB+512GB and 16GB+1TB variants, with pricing to be revealed next week upon its official launch.
