HUAWEI recently launched its latest flagship smartphone the Mate 60 Pro in China, which is the successor of the HUAWEI Mate 50 Pro that was announced last year. It has a new 6.82-inch FHD+ OLED quad-curved screen with LTPO 1–120Hz refresh rate technology, 1.07 billion-color display, 1,440Hz PWM dimming, and 2nd Gen Kunlun glass protection. It has a triple punch-hole screen that houses a 13MP front camera and 3D depth sensor, enabling accurate face recognition.
Now, the company also launched its vanilla version the Mate 60, which is available through an early access program. It has similar specifications to the Pro version but with some downgrades. It has a new 6.69-inch FHD+ OLED flat screen with LTPO 1–120Hz refresh rate technology, 1.07 billion-color display, 1,440Hz PWM dimming, and 2nd Gen Kunlun glass protection. it has a punch-hole front-facing 13MP front camera.
HUAWEI Mate 60 Pro is the first smartphone to support satellite calls, and the Mate 60 only supports satellite messaging, not calls.
Although HUAWEI has not officially disclosed the processors used in the phones, screenshots of the device suggest it features the Kirin 9000s chipset. According to Geekbench, this octa-core processor boasts a clock speed of 2.62 GHz at its highest and 1.53 GHz at its lowest. The benchmark score of the Mate 60 Pro falls short compared to current flagship standards and is comparable to the Kirin 990 chipset used in the P40 series. Additionally, it is uncertain if the phone will support 5G.
Both phones have a triple rear camera setup where a 50MP super-spotting primary camera with F1.4–F4.0 ten-step variable physical aperture along with a 12MP ultra-wide lens, and a 48MP telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom camera and a 100x digital zoom, while the Mate 60 has 12MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom. There is also an option to shoot macro through a telephoto lens.
The HUAWEI Mate 60 Pro is powered by a 5000mAh battery that supports up to 88W of fast charging, and the Mate 60 has a 4750mAh battery that supports up to 66W of fast charging. Both phones support 50W of wireless fast charging, and 20W reverse wireless charging in Mate 60 Pro, which is the fastest reverse wireless charging phone ever.
