During its MWC event, HMD revealed plans to introduce a repairable phone later this year, streamlining the screen repair process significantly. Following the preview of its entry-level phone, the company has initiated teasers for its repairable phone across its social media channels.
The teasers display two phone variants, one in Grey and the other in Pink, featuring the HMD logo prominently. While the initial images showcase these two colors, it's likely that more color options will be available. Additionally, the teasers confirm the inclusion of a 108MP sensor, consistent with earlier rumors.
During its MWC presentation, the company stated, "You can say goodbye to phone separation due to a broken screen and get swept up in the ‘FIY’ (Fix it Yourself) movement."
HMD has officially announced that the Barbie flip phone is slated for release in May 2024, with other models, including the repairable phone, set to launch in July.
Furthermore, the silver/grey variant of the phone is expected to be compatible with the HMD Fusion case. To support developers, the company has released a toolkit on the HMD global website specifically for this purpose.
