HMD Global is preparing to introduce its inaugural HMD brand smartphone, as initially announced in September 2023. According to a report from Finnish media outlet suomimobiili.fi, indications point to the imminent release of a new HMD smartphone.

Allegedly, HMD Global briefly shared a cryptic image on Nokia.com, which was later removed. The image depicted a woman holding a cyan-colored phone, resembling a 3D rendering more than an actual device, suggesting potential plans from HMD.

The design bears a resemblance to the classic Nokia Lumia phones, a style not previously observed in the HMD Global era. Noteworthy features include a square-shaped camera module on the back housing three cameras and a flash, highlighting a "108 MP OIS" camera. Furthermore, the device showcases the HMD logo on its rear.

Moreover, an early information page on Nokia.com underscores HMD's objective: "We aspire to create phones that embody durability, enjoyment, security, speed, and affordability. Genuine quality, all encompassed."

Of particular interest, the leaked details imply HMD's exploration into 108 MP cameras, reminiscent of Nokia Mobile's experimentation with the Nokia 9.3 PureView model in 2020.

As per @evleaks, the upcoming HMD phones are codenamed Pulse, Legend, Pulse+, Legend Plus, Pulse Pro, and Legend Pro. With MWC 2024 approaching, further details are expected to emerge at the event in Barcelona at the end of February.
