Google has just updated its Play Store app for Android which brings a lot many welcome changes. The new app has the version 4.6.16 bringing with it batch installs alongwith several security and UI improvements.

With the new update you can select a number of apps and then install them using the overflow menu. Although you still have to select the apps manually and grant them permission to be installed but in a batch mode. But batch uninstall is still missing.

Then there's the password feature when making in-app purchases where you now require to always input your password when making an in-app purchase. Furthermore, customers will be notified within the Play Store app that the particular app uses in-app purchases.

The option to Auto-add Widgets, which was a tad bit misleading as it actually added a shortcut to the app on the Home Screen has now been aptly named as Ad icon to Home Screen. The update has begun rolling out and will be available in the course of a few weeks to everyone and its safe to say that most of the changes are truly welcome.
