Google has launched its latest flagship smartphones, the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL Globally including in India, as promised. The Pixel 9 features a 6.3-inch FHD+ OLED Actua display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 2,700 nits of peak brightness. The Pixel 9 Pro comes with a slightly larger 6.3-inch 1.5K display, also at 120Hz, while the new Pixel 9 Pro XL boasts a 6.7-inch Quad HD+ screen, both offering up to 3,000 nits peak brightness—an increase of 25% compared to their predecessors.
All smartphones run on Google’s Tensor G4 SoC, support 5G SA/NSA and include the Titan M2 Security chip. The Pixel 9 Pro models also feature upgraded vapour chamber cooling. These devices run on Android 14 and will receive Android and security updates for seven years. The Pixel 9 series also introduces Satellite SOS in the US.
Design-wise, the Pixel 9 has a polished back with a satin-finish metal frame, while the Pixel 9 Pro sports a silky matte back with a polished metal frame. Both models are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on both the front and back and come with IP68 ratings for dust and water resistance.
Camera Specs and Features -
The Pixel 9 and 9 Pro series feature a new 50MP sensor with OIS, complemented by a second 50MP sensor. The Pixel 9 retains the same 11MP front camera as the Pixel 8, but the Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL include a 42MP autofocus front camera and add a 48MP telephoto camera with OIS.
Additional features include Astrophotography, Portrait Mode, Face Unblur, Long Exposure, Action Pan, Real Tone, Panorama, Top Shot, and Frequent Faces. The devices support 8K video recording at 30 FPS powered by Video Boost, with up to 20x Super Res Zoom in Night Sight Video or Video Boost on the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL.
New features like Add Me allow users to take a group photo, then swap places with someone and take a second photo with themselves included. The Magic Editor’s Reimagine feature can create anything by simply describing what you want, while Auto Frame in Magic Editor uses AI to generate better framing options for existing photos. Zoom Enhance intelligently fills in gaps between pixels and predicts fine details for high-quality post-capture zoom results.

- The Google Pixel 9 is priced at Rs. 79,999 for the 256GB model in India. In the U.S., it starts at USD 799 (approximately Rs. 67,050) for the 128GB model and USD 899 (approximately Rs. 75,435) for the 256GB version.
- The Google Pixel 9 Pro starts at Rs. 1,09,999 in India, while in the U.S., it begins at USD 999 (approximately Rs. 83,835).
- The Google Pixel 9 Pro XL is priced at Rs. 1,24,999 for the 256GB model and Rs. 1,39,999 for the 512GB model in India. In the U.S., the starting price is USD 1,099 (approximately Rs. 92,225).
