Google already confirmed the launch of its latest flagship smartphones Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro later this fall and also said that it will be powered by the new Tensor processor. Both will feature an aluminum frame with a matte finish on the Pixel 6 and the Pixel 6 Pro will come with a polished aluminum frame. The company also posted new images of the phones along with a new teaser video last week.
Now, the full specifications of the Tensor SoC powered on the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro have surfaced. According to the new report, the Tensor SoC in the Pixel 6 series will feature 2x ARM Cortex-X1 cores clocked at 2.802GHz, 2x ARM Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.253GHz, and 4x ARM Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.80GHz. But the GPU information is not revealed yet, but according to earlier rumors, it could feature the Mali-G78 GPU clocked at 848MHz. These phones will be available in 12GB LPDDR5 RAM with 128GB / 256GB / 512GB storage.
The report also suggests that the Pixel 6 Pro is said to feature Google’s AV1 decoder, which means that the Pixel 6 Pro can decode HEVC content at up to 8K 30fps and AV1 content at 4K 60fps. It is also said to support Qualcomm aptX and aptX HD codecs for high-quality Bluetooth audio.
According to the XDA Developer has got more details about the Pixel 6 Pro. It reveals that the Pixel 6 series will not support both Active Edges to activate the Google Assistant. It will still have an option that lets you double-tap the rear of the device to launch the Assistant or do other things. The Pixel 6 Pro will come with a QHD+ AMOLED display (3120 x 1440 pixel) with a 120Hz refresh rate and comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner. When the Always-on Display is active then the refresh rate can dip down to 10 or 30Hz, but it is not clear if this is an LTPO display with a variable refresh rate like Samsung phones.
It also reveals that the phone will support ultra-wideband (UWB), and also confirms Exynos Modem 5123 for 5G since there is a reference to “g5123b” in the phone’s radio firmware. It also corroborates the 5000mAh battery from earlier leaks and says that it will come with Battery Share for reverse wireless charging, but the wired charging speed has not been confirmed yet.
