Android 15 AOSP release.

Google has officially released the Android 15 source code on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and announced that Android 15 will be available on supported Pixel devices in the coming weeks.

The company also confirmed that devices from brands like Samsung, HONOR, iQOO, Lenovo, Motorola, Nothing, OnePlus, OPPO, realme, Sharp, Sony, Tecno, vivo, and Xiaomi will receive the update in the coming months, with some, like vivo and iQOO, already beginning public previews.

For Pixel devices (Pixel 6 series and later) running Android 14, Google has released the September 2024 security patch, which removes third-party APKs to address security vulnerabilities. The update also improves wireless (Wi-Fi) stability and performance, particularly in Pixel 9 series phones.

Recent rumours suggest that the stable version of Android 15 for Pixel devices will not be available until October, indicating a likely delay. In the meantime, Google has released the Android 15 quarterly platform release (QPR) beta 1 for Pixel devices.

If you're participating in the final Android 15 beta, you can opt-out and wait for the stable update instead of installing the QPR update.
