Gionee is also prepping to launch its first dual-camera smartphone, the Gionee S9 on November 15th. Live images of the smartphone surfaced earlier and according to previous leaks, the S9 is going to come with a 5.5-inch 1080p display running on an octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz with Mali-T860 GPU, 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage which should be expandable.
On the software side of things, you will have Android 6.0 Marshmallow running here with the company's own Amigo UI on top. Gionee is going with a 13MP + 5MP rear camera combination which would allow it to capture better depth of focus, and possibly give more control over refocusing the image after it has been captured. It remains to be seen of the company comes up with something more innovative.
In the front, a 13MP camera for selfies is expected. There is another variant expected at the launch event called the Gionee S9T which carries a higher clocked 2GHz processor which can be the new Helio P15, but there is no confirmation at this point.
Since the Gionee S9 is launching in less than a week, we will have more information for you come November 15th.
