Samsung Galaxy Note 6 is tipped to launch in mid-August and is supposed to pack in the latest Snapdragon 823 with 3GB RAM and massive internal storage.
According to Evan Blass, who has become a reliable source of leaks, the Galaxy Note 6 is going to launch in Mid-August in the US. Although earlier reports pointed to a launch about a month earlier in July.
But that's not all, Samsung may be working to make the Note 6 the go to device for the working professional with enough horsepower to even make your laptop shy. From what we can gather, the Galaxy Note 6 is expected to come with a 5.77-inch Quad-HD Super AMOLED display running on the yet un-announced Snapdragon 823 SoC which would be an octa-core avatar of the Snapdragon 820.
There would be 6GB RAM onboard with a maximum of 256GB inbuilt storage. The battery on the device is pegged at 4200 mAh and the device is said to have an IP68 certified dust/water resistant body. Coming to cameras, Samsung is rumored to be working on a larger 1/1.7-inch camera sensor for smartphones with a much wider f/1.4 aperture lens compared to the f/1.7 aperture on the Galaxy S7. Even if Samsung decides to go with the same cameras as on the Galaxy S7, we would still be getting one of the best cameras on a smartphone.
The Galaxy Note 6 will run on Android Marshmallow at launch, since Android N would not be out until later in the year. Moreover, OEM's will take time to customize vanilla Android with their skins and features. Another point of contention is whether Samsung will go for a USB Type-C port on the Note 6. SamMobile certainly thinks so, and if that is true we may also see a new GearVR headset launch with the Note 6, since the older one makes use of a Micro-USB port and was one of the major reasons why Samsung opted for the port on the current Galaxy S7 flagships.
The Galaxy Note 6 is shaping up to the ultimate flagship smartphone and VR will be at the center of that experience as well.
