While the company has been working hard to get the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge on Android Nougat, Samsung has not forgotten about Note 5 and Galaxy Tab S2 users. According to a report from SamMobile, Samsung is currently working on Android 7.0 Nougat port for both devices.
Given that the firmware has just entered development, it is going be a couple of months before your Note 5 gets the taste of Nougat. But even then Samsung has been one of the faster OEM's in rolling out software updates and security patches of late especially considering their giant product portfolio.
But Nougat has been a new beast for most manufacturers, and even the company's current S7 and S7 edge won't be getting the update before 2016 ends. Then there's the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge, for which too firmware development has begun. There are some neat things that Samsung is planning for its Nougat build including some new Grace UX apps which we have already seen creep into the Galaxy J5 and J7 prime launched in India including Secure Folder. Then there are some new UI elements which will keep things interesting.
We will keep our eyes peeled on the progress of Nougat updates from Samsung.
