Flipkart has just launched a store for mobile accessories under its own label. For now, the Flipkart Smartbuy store lists only mobile accessories, but the company may be planning to expand that into other segments.
At present, you can buy Flipkart branded cables, USB wall chargers priced between Rs. 199 and Rs. 399, later the company wants to bring other electronic accessories like Bluetooth speakers, power banks, personal grooming supplies and more. This is similar to what Amazon does with its Basics store, and again we see Flipkart imitating their strategy.
Products listed on the SmartBuy store will be sourced from India, China, and Malaysia. Flipkart has been aggressively pushing for growth in other segments as smartphone sales are bound to slow down. The e-commerce player recently made inroads into home furnishing, small appliances and is now planning to take on Amazon with a more back to basics approach.
