Facebook Instant Articles is now available in India, and they have roped in five Indian publishers for full news articles and videos. India Today, Aaj Tak, Hindustan Times, The Indian Express and The Quint.
Instant Articles pre-loads content making it easier for users to read directly on the Facebook App and the company says that content loads up to 10 times faster.
Andy Mitchell, Facebook's Director, News and Global Media Partnerships confirmed saying:
We at Facebook are really excited to be rolling out Instant Articles in India on Monday. We are working with a publisher ecosystem that is varied and we are excited to see how this product will resonate with Facebook users and publishers in India.
Till now, Instant Articles was available in the US and Western Europe on iOS but this time Facebook is bringing it to Android as a beta and India is the first testing ground.
