Xiaomi Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S Prime will be available today (August 24th) on Flipkart and Mi.com.
Both phones were launched in India earlier this month, and come with a 5-inch 720p HD IPS display, octa-core Snapdragon 430, Android Marshmallow based MIUI 7.5. There's 2GB RAM, 16GB storage on the Redmi 3S, while the Prime variant gets 3GB RAM, 32GB expandable storage and a fingerprint sensor. You have unibody metal construction here, with rounded edges which make the phone easier to hold.
Both have the same 13MP/5MP cameras and a massive 4100 mAh battery. Even with that large battery the phone doesn't feel hefty and at this price point there are very few options to choose from. The Coolpad Mega, Lenovo Vibe K5 do come in mind. But overall the Redmi 3S seems like a very good option under Rs. 7000. Xiaomi has had great success with the Redmi Note 3, selling more than 1.75 million units in just 5 months. They have another hit on their hands, given they can manufacture enough units.
The Redmi 3S has been priced at Rs. 6999 and will be available on Flipkart as well as Mi.com today in gold, silver and grey color options. The Redmi 3S Prime will be available for Rs. 8999.
