Xiaomi's Black Shark brand has launched its latest flagship 5G gaming smartphone the Black Shark 5, Black Shark 5 RS, and Black Shark 5 Pro smartphones in China, as they promised. Three phones have a 6.7-inch FHD+ flat OLED screen with a 144Hz refresh rate, 720Hz touch sampling, and the Pro model supports a 10-bit screen from China Star Optoelectronics. The Black Shark 5 runs on the Snapdragon 870 SoC, Black Shark 5 RS has Snapdragon 888+ and 888 SoC depending on the model, and the 5 Pro has the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC.
All these phones come with built-in VC cooling, and the Pro uses an “anti-gravity” dual VC liquid cooling system to suppress heat. Its “anti-gravity” orbital design is said to enhance the ability of liquids to “upstream”, and it is expected to achieve better thermal conductivity with a plate with an area of 5,320mm², as per the company. The Black Shark RS features a Z-axis linear motor, the other two have an X-axis motor, and all these have a Side-mounted scanner and Magnetic power lift shoulder key.
The Black Shark 5 and 5 Pro have a 4,650mAh dual-cell battery that supports 120W fast charging with two and three charge pumps respectively. The Black Shark 5 RS also supports 120W fast charging but uses a dual-cell, dual-charge pump and has a slightly smaller 4,500mAh battery.
The company also introduced the China aerospace editions of Black Shark 5 and 5 Pro that include special edition accessories, figures, meteorite necklaces, and more.
