Last month, Asus unveiled its Zenfone 4 series in Taiwan. At that time along with the flagship Zenfone 4 series, the company also announced a couple of selfie centric smartphones, the Zenfone 4 Selfie and Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro. All three of these have made their way to India and will be available exclusively on Flipkart.
The new smartphones run on Android 7.1 Nougat with Zen UI 4.0 on top and are upgradable to Android Oreo as well. All the Zenfone 4 devices support dual SIM connectivity, 4G VoLTE and have a microUSB slot for charging/data syncing. You have WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, FM Radio and a 3.5, headphone jack available here as well.
Zenfone 4 Selfie
The Zenfone 4 Selfie comes in two variants. Both have a unibody metal design, with 5.5-inch 720p HD IPS displays and 2.5D curved glass on top for protection. They run on the Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor with Adreno 505 GPU. The high-end variant gets 4GB RAM with 64GB onboard storage priced at Rs. 14,999. It also has dual front cameras, 20MP + 8MP. During the Big Billion Days sale, the Zenfone 4 Selfie with dual cameras would be priced at Rs. 13,999.
The other variant has a single 13MP front camera and a 13MP rear camera as well. The high-end variant has a 16MP main camera with Sony IMX351 sensor. The single front camera Zenfone 4 Selfie has been priced at Rs. 9999. It has 3GB RAM, 32GB onboard storage and supports 5V/2A fast charging. Both phones have dedicated microSD card slot to expand storage.
Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro
This is the selfie flagship. the Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro packs a 5.5-inch 1080p AMOLED display up front with 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass for protection. It is powered by the Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor clocked at 2GHz with Adreno 506 GPU. It is paired with 4GB RAM, 64GB onboard storage. It has a high-output speaker which uses NXP Smart Amp to increase output.
On the front, you get dual cameras, 12MP + 5MP with portrait mode. The 12MP front camera uses the company's dual pixel technology to make 24MP selfies, it has a f/1.8 aperture lens which should help with low light selfies along with a front flash. There is Electronic Image Stabilization for the front camera as well along with 4K video recording support. A 3000 mAh non-removable battery powers the unibody metal smartphone.
At the rear, you will find a 16MP camera with Sony IMX351 sensor, along with LED flash. The Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro has been priced at Rs. 23,999 and it will be available on Flipkart starting September 21st.
