The 2024 ROG lineup, including the ROG Phone 8 series, will be announced by Asus on January 8 at CES in Las Vegas. Additionally, the official ROG Weibo account has confirmed the ROG Phone 8's launch in China, scheduled for January 16.
A brief teaser video shared by the Chinese ROG account showcases the ROG Phone 8's display, marking a significant shift for the series by introducing a punch-hole cutout. The display is also set to feature slimmer bezels compared to previous ROG Phone models.
Asus has unveiled additional close-up renders of the recently teased ROG Phone 8, providing a closer look at its new back design and distinctive pentagon-shaped camera cutout. The company is also conducting a blind camera test for the ROG Phone 8, suggesting a significant effort has been invested in revamping the camera setup for the upcoming device. While it is confirmed that the ROG Phone 8 will debut with three camera sensors, specific details about these sensors are yet to be disclosed.
The ROG Phone 8 is anticipated to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, offering configurations with up to 24GB of RAM. Additionally, the device is expected to support 65W charging and run on the Android 14 operating system.
