ASUS has revealed the ROG Phone 8 Pro series in India, following its earlier debut today. Featuring a 6.78-inch Full HD+ AMOLED HDR 1-120Hz LTPO display boasting a 165Hz refresh rate option for gaming, along with a peak brightness of up to 2500 nits, the phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and offers up to 24GB of RAM. Despite a 15% reduction in thickness, weight, and slimmer bezels on the screen, ASUS emphasizes that performance has not been compromised. The device maintains a premium design and durability.
The phone incorporates the Rapid-Cooling Conductor design as part of the advanced GameCool 8 thermal system, efficiently conducting heat from the processor to the back cover. Additionally, the redesigned AeroActive Cooler X clip-on cooler is now 29% smaller, providing 1.2X higher thermal efficiency and reducing back cover temperatures by as much as 26°C.
Equipped with a 50 MP main camera featuring a Sony sensor, 6-Axis Hybrid Gimbal Stabilizer 3.0, a 13 MP ultrawide camera, and a groundbreaking 32MP 3X telephoto lens with built-in OIS, this marks the first time an ROG phone includes such a feature. The front-facing 32 MP ultrawide selfie camera, with an RGBW sensor, now boasts an increased field of view from 73° to 90°.
The Phone 8 Pro introduces the Anime Vision Mini-LED 341-element display, capable of showcasing preset or user-created animations. Users can unlock secret animations by touching their phone back-to-back with another ROG Phone 8 Pro or Pro Edition. ASUS claims it is the world's first IP68-compliant gaming smartphone, providing resistance against dust and water ingress.
The phone houses a dual-cell 5,500mAh battery for power and supports 65W HyperCharge fast charging, enabling a full charge in just 39 minutes. Additionally, it includes 15W Qi wireless charging.
