Apple has also launched an upgraded version of Mac Pro with the new M2 Ultra Chip in India at the WWDC 2023 event. It is up to 3x faster than the previous-generation Intel-based model, as per the company. The Mac Pro with the M2 Ultra features a 24-core CPU, an up to 76-core GPU, and up to 192GB of memory with 800GB/s of unified memory bandwidth promising 2x the performance and capabilities of M2 Max, and starts with twice the memory and SSD storage.
Now, Mac Pro has the performance of not just one but seven Afterburner cards built in. It can play an unprecedented 22 streams of 8K ProRes video. It supports up to 24 4K camera feeds and encodes them to ProRes in real-time, all on a single machine, when using six video I/O cards.
The new Mac Pro also brings 7 PCIe expansion slots, with six open expansion slots that support gen 4, which is 2x faster than before, so users can customize Mac Pro with essential cards. It has 8 built-in Thunderbolt-4 ports where 6 on the back and 2 on the top. It supports up to 6 Pro Display XDRs and comes with Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.
Mac Pro also has 3 USB Type-A ports, 2 higher-bandwidth HDMI ports that support up to 8K resolution and up to 240Hz frame rates, 2 10Gb Ethernet ports, and a headphone jack that enables the use of high-impedance headphones.
Pricing and Availability -
The Mac Pro comes in both tower and rack-mounted enclosures, and it will be available from June 13 in India in Apple Store locations and Apple Authorized Resellers, and Pre-orders started today on apple.com/in/store.
The Mac Pro (Tower Enclosure) price starts at Rs. 7,29,900 and the Mac Pro (Rack Enclosure) price starts at Rs. 7,79,900.
